Chicago (July 12, 2017) — For the first time since its establishment, the Merchandise Mart’s Design Center will house a true, one-of-a-kind electronics center. Having recently opened, Artisan Electronics Group (AEG) offers a high-tech, fully integrated atmosphere that both designers and architects will appreciate.
Since 2003, AEG has provided top-notch solutions and installation services for its clientele, ranging from estates in the Chicago suburbs to downtown high rises. This location marks the first major design showroom for the 14-year-old company and furthers its commitment to partnering with the residential design industry.
“By establishing a showroom at theMart, we are providing the Chicago design industry with a fully equipped electronics experience center that they can visit with their clients to see and learn about the latest technologies in audio, video and system integration,” said Ken Walker, founder and president of Artisan Electronics Group. “We believe that the Artisan Electronics Group showroom will quickly become a reliable resource and electronics destination for designers, and we are thrilled to be located in the iconic Merchandise Mart.”
Upon entering, visitors will immediately be greeted with a completely immersive experience. The front window platform area will set the tone for the space, displaying the most high-quality cinema seating available, courtesy of AEG’s manufacturing partner CinemaTech.
“CinemaTech is excited to partner with the Artisan Electronics Group in its new Chicago showroom. We don’t take our partners and the locations in which we invest lightly, as in our world, reputation is everything,” said Michael T. Murphy, president of CinemaTech. “We are thrilled to provide a more local presence and connection to the outstanding design community of Chicago.”
Additional CinemaTech furnishings will be housed in the theater, including a three person chaise sofa and four supplementary seating styles. Another strong manufacturer partnership for the showroom is with ELAN, providing award winning home entertainment and control systems that integrate everything from music to lighting to climate control.
“Personalized home automation has become every bit as important to the design of a home as the furniture and finishes,” said Core Brands’ Director of Builder Sales Bret Jacob. “For more than 25 years, ELAN has been providing discerning homeowners and homebuyers with smart home entertainment and control solutions that are intuitive to use and even easier to update. As a long-time partner of Artisan Electronics Group, we are proud to support them in this exceptional new Design Center showroom.”
The Design Center is pleased to welcome the company to its selection of showrooms, as well. Beth Hicks, managing director, marketing for Design Center and Casual Market Chicago, said, “Artisan Electronics Group is an exciting addition to our lineup of showrooms, providing products that connect and enhance the experience of living in a thoughtfully designed home. The company’s offering of state-of-the-art electronics truly expands the Design Center’s position as a resource for all things interior design.”
The new Artisan Electronics Group showroom is located at 222 W. Merchandise Mart Plaza, Suite 1486.
About Artisan Electronics Group Artisan Electronics Group came to life in 2003 as Sound Design Systems, as a company focused on creating large-scale, high fidelity residential sound systems. As the company’s specialties expanded to encompass more aspects of electronics integration, such as lighting control and motorized shading control, the brand evolved into Artisan Electronics Group in 2012. AEG has now become known as an electronics integrator specializing in serving the needs of Chicago’s design and architectural communities, operating from Suite 1486 in the famed Merchandise Mart, and from the company’s long time headquarters in west suburban Winfield, Illinois.
